Beverly Hallett

Nursery Manager

Hi, my name is Beverly Hallett. I am an experienced early years practitioner, trainer and senior manager having worked for over 30 years with children and families in the public and private sectors. In addition to my teaching and training qualifications, I have a BA (Hons) degree in Early Childhood Education and I specialise in the early years foundation stage, child development and working with under three’s. I led the quality and training department of a highly successful private nursery group for many years and worked as a practitioner, centre and operations manager, lecturer and finally an Ofsted inspector before coming to Head Start Day Nursery and Preschool as Manager. In my spare time I horse ride and currently own a Selle Francais gelding who I try and ride before and after work and at weekends.

Deputy Manager

I joined Head Start Day Nursery in December 2010 after being promoted from Junior deputy at our Kings Hill nursery to Deputy Manager at Head Start. I have an NVQ level 3 in childcare. I have been working in childcare since 1999. I also have a son who is 2 years old who attends our Kings Hill Nursery. As well as supporting Beverly, the Nursery Manager with overall management responsibilities, I oversee the baby room and staff.

I joined the Head Start nursery in 2003 as a nursery nurse in the toddler room, but left to have my son in 2007. After returning from maternity leave in May 2007 I was promoted to room manager in the Preschool room and shortly after this, I was promoted to junior deputy manager and moved to the baby room where I worked for 2 years. In May 2011 I covered the post of Deputy Manager for five months before returning to my current role as junior deputy manager or 3rd in charge. As well as supporting the management team, I have overall responsibility for managing the pre-school room. I have an NVQ Level 3 and am currently studying for my EYPS to further develop my childcare knowledge and skills. I like to spend my spare time with my son Dylan and my family.

I have been with Head Start Nursery since September 2011. I am currently studying for my NVQ level 2 with the Casterbridge training academy. Although I work in the nursery gaining valuable practical experience I also attend training sessions on a regular basis at the Academy premises in Fleet.

I have worked at Head Start for five years now. I qualified as a level 2 practitioner in May 2011. I am currently working towards a level 3 diploma in children's care learning and development.
